Boards, Commissions and Committees
Chittenden County Metropolitan Planning Organization:
The Chittenden County Metropolitan Planning Organization (CCMPO) is responsible for transportation planning in the Burlington urbanized area. Shelburne's representative is: Norman Silcox. The Commission meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7 PM at the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission offices located at 30 Kimball Ave. Suite 206, South Burlington, VT 05403. Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission:
The Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) is responsible for creating the regional plan and serves as a forum for regional planning issues. Shelburne's members is: Jeff Nick, The CCRPC Board of Commissioners meets the 4th Monday of each month at 6 PM at their offices on 30 Kimball Avenue, Suite 206, So. Burlington, VT. Historic Preservation and Review Committee:
The members of the Historic Preservation and Review Committee are Fritz Horton, Chair, Bruce Beeken, Oda Hubbard, Tom Koerner, Dorothea Fraver Penar, Barbara Hamblett, and Warren Sanderson.
Historic Sites Committee:
The Historic Sites Committe is comprised of Carroll Ockert, Chair, Ellen Janson, Stuart Morrow, and Carol Casey.
Natural Resources and Conservation Committee:
The Natural Resources & Conservation Committee consists of Andrea Van Hoven, Chair, Gail Albert, Laurel Abrams Neme, Becky Wang, Kevin Kenlan, and Sean McFadden. They review projects for their impact on Shelburne's natural resources. The committee initiates conservation land acquisition for the town. In addition, they organize educational events and tree sales. The committee meets the lst Monday of each month at 7 PM in the Town Office Building. Neighborhood Paths Committee:
The Neighborhood Paths Committee consists of Gail Henderson-King, Chair, James Bragden, Carol Cherhoniak, Rob Donahue, Clarke Hermance, Dorothea Fraver Penar, and Laurie Thompson. They are responsible for the planning and implementation of a path system linking key destinations in Shelburne with surrounding communities. Planning Commission:
The Shelburne Planning Commission consists of Rick Peterson, Chair, Reg Gignoux, Kay Kraushaar, CLaude Lapierre, Fred Schmitz, Hilda White and Hudson Holland. They approve subdivisions, site plans and boundary line adjustments and is responsible for revisions to the Subdivision and Zoning Regulations as well as the Town Plan. The commission meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM at the Town Office Building. Recreation Committee:
The Recreation Committee consists of Peggy Coutu, Chair, Linda Barker, David Stroupe, Marv Thomas, Ann Clark, Joe Hameline, and Bridget Shover. -They oversee the management of the town's parks, recreation programs and sports leagues. The committee meets the 3rd Monday of each month at 6:30 PM in the Conference Room at the Town Office Building. Call the Parks & Recreation Director for more information at 985.9551.
Selectboard:
A five member elected Selectboard governs the town. The board sets policy through budgets, ordinances and tax rates among other regulatory duties. They meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM at the Town Office Building. The public is invited to attend these meetings. Shelburne Community School Board:
The Shelburne School Board meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 6:30 PM. The meetings are usually held at the Shelburne Town Center third floor conference room.
Water Commission:
The Shelburne Water Commission is comprised of three members appointed by the Selectboard. Peter Gadue, Chair, Bob Schumacher and Ron A. Bouchard have served on the commission for several years. The commission sets policy and the prices of public water delivery to Shelburne residents. The commission meets each month at the Town Office Building. Zoning Board of Adjustment:
The members of the Zoning Board of Adjustment are Tom Koerner, Chair, Boris Funtow, Steven Waltien, Milton Edelman, and Gwen Webster.
