LRAA Strategic Objectives:

1. Proactive involvement with the community, local and state government agencies and resources to achieve our stated mission.
- Work with VT Fish and Wildlife Department on establishing streamside buffer zones on Fish and Wildlife land.
- Work with LCNC and USDA on establishing streamside buffer zones on farmland.
- Work with LCPC on establishing streamside buffer zones and improving flood plain access on new bike path.
- Involve local schools and youth on projects

2. To gain and share knowledge, education and awareness of river and habitat ecology to effect continuous improvements

3. To contribute to habitat improvement through hands-on involvement in projects
- Explore possibilities of buying or contributing to the purchase of conservation easements in key areas
- Tree planting support in May
- River clean-up
- Improve trout access to spawning habitat and improve mainstem Lamoille directly below tributary
- Stabilize and establish buffer zone on Gihon River

4. To raise funds and provide support for projects to improve the resource.
- Develop a marketing plan to increase membership and improve fundraising activity
- Increase leverage through matching fund procurement and grant writing initiatives

5. Build infrastructure for effective management of efforts
- Assure compliance to 501C-3 regulations
- Create procedures for management for effective administration
- Establish effective communication with members
