2004-06 Hard Start
If a 2004 - 2006 bus develops a hard starting issue and the ECM stores codes for all injectors, the following steps can be taken to avoid downtime:
[1] Check the fuses located in the battery box that are identified as the IDM fuse and the ECM fuse. They are both 40 amp fuses, and due to a possible poor contact in the fuse receptacle, these fuses may start to melt or the receptacle may start to melt.
[2] With a pocket screwdriver, tighten the prongs in the receptacle and replace the fuse.
[3] If the damage is greater than the repair allows, call the service department at 1-800-554-4504 for a new fuse harness and it will be supplied under warranty and shipped directly to you.

Important service information regarding the VT365 engine:
The fuel pre-strainer must be serviced/cleaned at every oil change. The fuel filter element replacement schedule is every other oil change. Restricted strainers will cause low fuel pressure. This not only results in lower fuel pressure causing low power, it also causes the ICP to raise in an effort to achieve rated boost. The increase in ICP can cause the injector to break internally, resulting in a dead miss (not intermittent).
